It's tBG52 week!

We’re only a few days away from the BIG GAME 52, and we’re excited to have you join us for our first event in almost 5 years!

Given it’s been a while and this is a new format event at a new location, we have collated key details and reminders to ensure you’re prepared for the weekend. Please read the below points carefully as some of the details are different to our usual events. If you have bought multiple tickets please forward this email to the rest of your party.

Venue and Timings:

  • The event takes place at Havant Rugby Football Club (here).
  • Access to the gaming hall will be available from 10am on the 1st of June and the event ends at 6pm on the 2nd of June.
  • If you’d like to arrive earlier on Saturday there will be no access to the event, but breakfast baps and hot drinks available from the onsite cafe from 8:30am (more details in the Food and Drink section below).

Alcohol and Smoking Policy:

  • There is a bar on site so please do not bring any alcohol onto the premises as it will violate licensing restrictions (soft drinks are permitted).
  • Smoking or vaping must not take place inside any buildings.

Food and Drink:

  • The venue has an onsite cafe which will be operating during the event.
  • Hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the day along with snacks.
  • Breakfast baps will be available on Saturday from 8:30am until 10:30am and on Sunday from 8am to 10am.
  • From 3pm until 10pm a range of hot meals will be available including smash burgers, fried chicken, and asian inspired rice and bao buns.
  • Gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available.
  • A range of alcoholic drinks will be available on both days from 3pm.
  • The BIG GAME Pizza Run will take place on Saturday night and will arrive around 9pm after the pub quiz (pre orders will be taken during the day).
  • A hot water urn and microwave will be available to use.
  • Unfortunately, there will not be any fridge space available at this event.

Tournament Games:

  • This event’s tournament games are Counter Strike 2 5v5, Rocket League 3v3, TrackMania, the Pub Quiz, and Quake 3 3v3.
  • As usual we’ll be using www.challonge.com to manage the tournaments. Please sign up for an account if you haven’t already.
  • There will be a BIG GAMER showdown on Sunday to crown the overall event champion and the winner will receive the golden joystick and free entry to the next event!
  • Many thanks to Mark One Consultants (https://markone.co.uk/) for sponsoring the event and providing £250 of Steam vouchers for the prize pool!

Personal Equipment:

  • In addition to your PC/laptop remember to bring your headphones (no speakers please), input devices, a mouse pad, and all charging cables.
  • You may bring your own chair if you’d like but you will need to carry it up stairs to the gaming hall.
  • We will provide network and power cables. Please bring cables or adapters for any devices that do not use a standard 'kettle lead' connector.
  • Communal showers are available - if you plan on using them you will need to bring a towel.
  • If you are sleeping at the event please remember a pillow and sleeping bag. Space is limited so if you’d like to bring an airbed it must be a single size.

BIG GAMES:

  • We will be hosting LAN wide games of Team Fortress 2 (which can now host the whole LAN in one server) and PUBG: Battlegrounds. Both games are free on Steam and we’d suggest getting them installed ahead of time.
  • PROTIP: PUBG requires a short (5 minutes) tutorial to be completed before you can play, so try to do this before the event.

Ticket Availability:

  • There are still tickets available. If you know someone who would enjoy the event, invite them to join us!

We are looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled weekend. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us by replying to this email or via our Discord server.

See you at the event!
